APT celebrates International Women’s Day

APT celebrates International Women’s Day on 8 March 2022, with interviews and a virtual gallery of work from some of our current female studio artists.   We also wanted to take the opportunity to thank all the women that are and have been part of our journey, in perpetuity.

Over the years, we have been fortunate to work with many inspiring female figures such as Phyllida Barlow, Emma Biggs, Sasha Craddock, Eileen Cooper, Ceri Hand, Jenni Lomax, Lisa Milroy, Victoria Miro and Alison Wilding, all of whom have given their time and expertise to projects such as Creekside Open, bringing international status to APT Gallery, and generous encouragement to so many emerging artists.

A unique community, established by artists in 1995. APT now delivers its charitable aims through the commitment of its Trustees, Artist Members and Staff.  This structure provides a supportive culture, where transparency, independence and creativity are paramount.  Today we celebrate the female Trustees who sit on our board: Jenny White, Ann Gilmore, Sarah Kogan, and Gillian Laidlaw, who only recently stepped down as Chair, after seven yearsEach bringing a special set of skills to support the ambitions of APT. We also celebrate the valued and dedicated contribution of two Administrative Directors, in the past Liz May, and currently Sarah Walsh.

Our studio-holders and members of APT charity are made up of an array of exceptional artists, all at different stages in their career.   Today we would like to say we are proud and grateful to receive support and guidance from the following women, who represent APT, in perpetuity! Jodie Carey, Veronique Chance, Fran Cottell, Bernice Donszelmann, Cath Ferguson, Marilyn Hallam, Rebecca Harper, Liz Harrison, Margaret Higginson, Alix MacSweeney, Mali Morris, Brigitte Parusel, Nicola Rae, Victoria Rance, Rachel Russell, Lou Smith, Lottie Stoddart, Sheila Vollmer and Charlotte Warne Thomas

We salute you….
