Congratulations Deptford X

It seemed clear from the beginning of lockdown that the 2020 Deptford X festival would not be possible and that is a very great loss to our community. However, ever resourceful, it seems that the team have used the award to create Deptford X Online, an incubator for the next festival.

Deptford X Online aims not to reproduce a festival online but to continue their core programme of supporting artists and nurturing creative expression and thought. Accordingly their first action was a window-show co-ordinated by Safiye Lawrence of Aurora Options who said:
”During this difficult time it is important that the people we support who have learning disabilities/autism stay active mentally and physically while maintaining social distancing. It is Aurora Options staff's job to support people to stay safe, keep busy, healthy and stay happy. Weekly since lockdown, I have been designing activity packs for our supported living services and for Cardmaking which is a Day Service activity. One of our activities was to design StaySafe Rainbows to put up in the windows of people's homes”
