About

We asked all the members at APT to show us things they make, but don’t normally include in exhibitions. And what they have selected includes post it notes of ideas, drawings of their child’s Lego creations, a rebus and beautiful oil painting rags. If you know the artist’s work already, we hope you may be amused, surprised and intrigued. If you don’t, we hope you will feel curious and inspired by what you see here to search each artist’s work further, either through a studio visit at the Open Studios weekend on 20th and 21st September or online.

We added Moonlighting as a sur-title to “a bit on the side” after some discussion. Although we love the idea of a “Carry on APT” film one day (it’s our 30th anniversary next year!) we wanted to be absolutely clear that there is no hint of hanky panky intended in the show. Instead we are talking about other kinds of creative activities, just below the radar.
