Stephen Jaques

Stephen Jaques has been a member of APT since its foundation in 1995.

Born in Derby he attended Derby College of Art and then Canterbury College of Art. After graduating he moved to London, setting up a studio with fellow artists.

Over a period of time devoted to experimentation and exploration, he moved away from the gestural approach of his early works to a new practice; routed in geometric and architectural forms.

Jaques has exhibited widely in galleries throughout the UK including the Arnolfini in Bristol and the Ruskin Gallery in Cambridge and many London galleries, including the Saatchi Gallery, as well as collaborating with Art Moorhouse on installations in Manchester and London. He has also been a frequent exhibitor in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. In 2015 he was Exhibition Manager for Construction Industry, curated by Geoffrey Rigden at the APT Gallery.

His works are in private collections in the UK, Europe and USA.
