"Of course, any and all times call for us to carve out our own sense of belonging, though at some times this feels more urgent. Now is one of those moments when we reach inside to explore our history and find our ancient nature intact as we respond to memory and touch, absence and human form, stories and emotion, humanity and our physical and virtual environments. In ‘Feeling for Murmuration’ Sheila Vollmer takes on the physicality and energy of architectural space, as Jennifer Talbot reacts to the digital world. Anna Jung Seo is enraptured with the goings on of strangers and their individual peculiarities while Sandra Beccarelli endeavours to reach the emotional heart of the matter as she considers the Latin ‘emovere’ as ‘disturbance’ or ‘disruptions’. Alexandra Harley restrains and contains movements. Catherine Cleary channels a deep interior to reveal the enchantment of mythology and daydreams. Helen Barff touches the void to reveal how memory becomes embedded in objects. Each artist sets their own terms of participation and, rightly, their own response to feeling for murmuration.”

This exhibition was originally planned for the Art House1 Gallery for March 2020 curated by Jillian Knipe but was postponed due to the tragic untimely death of Gallery owner Rebecca Fairman.

Feeling for Murmuration in the new venue of APT Gallery will be adapted to the larger gallery space with the hang curated by both Jillian Knipe and the artists. This show will also honor the memory of Rebecca Fairman's generosity and contribution to the London Gallery scene.
