The Administrative Director will lead on all aspects of gallery, studio and property management and artist liaison, supported by two part-time staff and the network of sub-committees led by the artist-members. APT is seeking someone with good interpersonal skills and the ability to lead the governance of the charity including management and maintenance of the studios and the Gallery. Applicants should have experience of charities and project management and proven ability to manage budgets and systems.

Established in 1995 by a group of artists, APT’s mission is to actively encourage and support creative thought and artistic vision by providing 42 studios for visual artists, a contemporary art gallery, a working sculpture yard and an external public performance space in Harold Wharf on the banks of Deptford Creek.  APT celebrates its 25th birthday in 2020 and the Administrative Director will play a key part in furthering APT’s potential as it moves into the next stage of its development.

With great admiration and much sadness, the Trustees of APT announce that, after eighteen years, Liz May is leaving to pursue her own practice. Those of you who know APT will know the huge contribution Liz has made to the charity and the support she has given to artists, including APT artist-members, Gallery exhibitors, APT Live performers and Creekside OPEN artists.  APT is 25 this year and Liz’s guidance and commitment has laid the groundwork to further develop the charity’s work and realise its potential.

“I have loved working at APT. Helping the organisation grow and thrive over nearly two decades has been a great privilege – and it has been hugely enjoyable and fun!  So, it has been a very difficult decision for me, but after much consideration I have decided to pursue other avenues in my life. I wish everyone at APT well and I look forward to welcoming my replacement and helping them settle in to work at a fantastic charity.”
