The Role of Electricity in the Morphology of the Universe | Talk

A Talk describing the Universe in terms of electro-dynamics. This is in the form of a Powerpoint presentation delivered ‘TV-style’ with the latest images from Space and clips from YouTube. These are originally chosen to demonstrate concepts but also as much for their visual impact.  As such, the Talk exists as a discursive extension of the artist’s studio practice.

“Artist Paul Malone takes you on a unique and controversial tour of the Universe. Originally devised to introduce artists and designers to the wide range of forms inherent in plasma structures, this talk follows contemporary speculations into the role that electro-dynamics plays in forming the objects we see in modern astronomy. It traces the history of the study of electricity in Space from Birkeland through Langmuir and Jeurgens to today's advocates.”

Friday at 8pm (45mins + Q & A = 1 Hr)
